Mr. Barczak's Practice

Mr. Barczak’s practice has been based in Waukesha County during the past 32 years. He is both an attorney and a certified public accountant. His focus has been in the trusts and estates area as well as in the area of individual and business taxation, including tax planning, tax preparation and assisting in tax audits. He has represented personal representatives in probate matters and has also been involved with counseling trustees in tax and non tax matters involving revocable and irrevocable trusts, including life insurance trusts and personal residence trusts. He has also prepared marital property agreements both in the context of providing tax savings and providing clarification of titling of assets to assist spouses in establishing disposition of assets pursuant to their desires in second marriage situations.

Mr. Barczak is a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), a national organization of approximately 2,600 lawyers elected to membership by demonstrating the highest level of integrity, commitment to the profession, competence and experience as trust and estate counselors. All ACTEC members have made substantial contributions to the field of trusts and estates law through writing, teaching and bar leadership activities.

During his years of practice Mr. Barczak has also been involved in various activities through the State Bar of Wisconsin. In conjunction with the State Bar, he had developed the Wisconsin Probate Document Assembly Program, a statewide computer program which allowed attorneys to effortlessly process probate documentation consistent with court requirements. He also assisted in implementing the website for the Real Property, Probate and Trust Section of the State Bar. He previously served for two terms on a District Board of Professional Responsibility committee comprised of both attorneys and private citizens of the county where he has practiced, and charged with reviewing lawyer disciplinary proceedings.

Mr. Barczak will be Of Counsel to the firm. Of Counsel means that an attorney has a special independent relationship with a law firm. Mr. Barczak’s office is located in Suite 201 of the Elm Grove Branch of Town Bank, located at 131st and Watertown Plank Road. All FOS attorneys will have access to Mr. Barczak’s office for client meetings.

Biography

Mr. Barczak was born and raised in West Allis, Wisconsin. He attended Don Bosco High School. Mr. Barczak and his wife Marie live in Wauwatosa. They are members of St. Mary Visitation Parish in Elm Grove. They have three daughters, Jennifer, Jacqueline and Joanna, who all live in the area. They have seven grandchildren and a good amount of their time is spent happily watching them grow.
