Mr. Pagels' Practice

Mr. Pagels focuses his practice on assisting businesses and individuals with business, tax and real estate issues. These issues typically involve business formation, contracts, employment issues, collections, and landlord/tenant matters. Mr. Pagels also works side-by-side with senior partners on complex business transactions, including real estate developments, financing and business acquisitions and sales.

He has assisted in a number of mergers and acquisitions throughout Wisconsin and the United States, on both the sellers' and buyers' side of the transaction. Mr. Pagels has also been involved with the purchase and sale of various real estate properties, including both commercial and residential properties. He has also assisted in the preparation of documents for the private placement sales of ownership units in various entities.

Mr. Pagels also assists the senior tax partners in the preparation of tax returns for businesses, individuals, trusts and estates.

He handles collection matters for both businesses and individuals, and emphasizes an attempt at handling these cases in a manner that provides the greatest amount of cost-benefit to his client. This will often involve entering negotiations with the business or individual debtor, in order to avoid the costs and time associated with taking these matters through full court proceedings.

Mr. Pagels also assists landlords and tenants with issues relating to the various matters that can arise from leasing property. These matters can involve negotiation of the lease, issues occurring during the term of the lease, or if need be, taking steps to remove a tenant that has failed to comply with the lease.

Biography

Mr. Pagels was born in West Allis, WI, and after brief periods in both Iowa and Illinois, grew up in Appleton, Wisconsin. Mr. Pagels attended Marquette University, during which time he worked various jobs including as an intern at Extendicare Health Services, Inc., a health care company with its U.S. headquarters in Milwaukee.

Mr. Pagels clerked for Fox, O'Neill & Shannon, S.C. after his first year of law school, and for the Herrling Clark Law Firm, Ltd. (Appleton, WI) during the summer after his second year. He began his legal career in July of 2007 when he joined Fox, O'Neill & Shannon, S.C. as an associate.

Since his return to Milwaukee in 2007, Mr. Pagels has maintained an active presence in the community. Mr. Pagels has been a "Big Brother" with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Milwaukee since December 2007, and has greatly enjoyed the time spent with his "Little Brother", Dacarion, exploring all that Milwaukee has to offer. He has also spent time volunteering for his church and various other charitable organizations in the Milwaukee area.
