Shannon Allen believes that taking the time to get to know her client, at the beginning of the relationship, is paramount in working together towards achieving the client’s goals. She works closely with both her business and individual clients to develop appropriate strategies to address their specific concerns. Shannon provides legal counsel and support throughout all aspects of her representation, including crisis management.
Shannon’s practice focuses on commercial litigation, employment counseling and employment litigation. She is an experienced civil litigator, who counsels and guides her clients through the pitfalls of the litigation process. This includes pre-litigation strategy, motion practice, discovery, mediation and trial.
Shannon litigates and tries cases in federal and state courts throughout Wisconsin and beyond, obtaining pro hac vice admission when necessary. Shannon’s cases are diverse in nature. Representative cases include employment disputes involving health care providers, breach of contract actions between vendors and financial institutions and state-court anti-trust litigation involving pharmaceutical companies.
In addition to representing clients in numerous state and federal courts, Shannon represents businesses and individuals in administrative proceedings involving unemployment compensation, workers compensation and employment discrimination, including before the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development and its Equal Rights Division.
As part of her litigation practice, Shannon is routinely retained by national in-house corporate counsel and/or outside litigation counsel to provide local representation and trial support in cases venued throughout Wisconsin. She is also experienced in managing high volume discovery in complex commercial litigation matters.
Active in her profession, Shannon currently serves as a Director of the Milwaukee Bar Association since 2012. She is also a mentor for the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Wisconsin Bar Association and serves as a volunteer attorney for the Milwaukee Justice Center.

Shannon was born in New Prague, Minnesota. Shannon and her two brothers were raised by their mother Maureen in La Crosse, Wisconsin. After graduating from La Crosse Central High School, Shannon ventured to Los Angeles to attend the University of Southern California where she became a vegetarian. After graduating from USC, Shannon returned to Wisconsin to attend law school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Shannon lives in Whitefish Bay where she serves on several local non-profit boards. She also actively supports North Suburban Special Olympics through fundraising efforts and attending her brother Timothy’s sporting events.
In her free time, Shannon enjoys running, downhill skiing, and golfing. Shannon is known for planning action-packed vacations (including her 40th birthday bash in Maui). Shannon is gaining on her goal of visiting all 50 U.S. States (currently at 39) while simultaneously collecting stamps in her passport.
